Before our trip though we were treated to the first real snow of the year. The girls made good use of the snowball tools their received for Christmas, but there wasn't quite enough to cover the sledding hill properly for the toboggan.
The Saturday weather made the trip down to Williamsburg to the lodge a bit challenging in spots, and Williamsburg had received at least twice as much snow as DC.
Great Wolf Lodge is this curious and as I understand it nearly nationwide phenomenon of a massive indoor water park all themed as great outdoors. Complete with an animitronic show in the lobby where the characters sing "Don't be afraid of the Forest" and "Love mother nature" I do hope the creators see the amazing irony in a place designed for you not to go outside for days at a time....
Regardless of the slight creepiness of the whole thing, we all had a ton of fun. They got to sleep in a special "tent" with bunk beds that was part of our room, play a live action scavenger hunt game called magiquest and (of course) spend lots of time on slides and in the wave pool!
